AS I LAY DYING, or, ZAO
Hey, this is about the band AS I LAY DYING, anyone besides me love their music? I know that they're Christian Metal, but they are really good, so isn't Zao. Anyone besides me?
Please reply, just so I know, and I am not to religious I like Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Death, and In Flames also.

As I Lay Dying is a very mediocre band from what I've listened to, but I love Zao (do you say it ZOW or ZAY-O?).
Since we're on the subject, Extol is a very good Norweigan Christian band, they're like....math-thrash.....or....something...yeah..

probably,
if you like ZAO, check out Norma Jean and Benea Reach, you'll probably like them too. I have some ZAO cd's and they're not bad. As I lay dying isn't really my thing, Extol, mm, I don't like their metallish sound, seems a bit overdone to me.

ok i don't know what you guys are talking bout as i lay dying aren't religious at all, i mean i got there album frail words collapse and its not religios at all just pretty good hardcore thrash type metal.
It's not there first album though they have another that is heavier and has no clean vocals adn sounds alot more thrashy, its better in my opinion.

Yeah.....band names are getting really lame. If I see one more band with "die" or "dying" or something I'm going to.......well probably just notice how crappy that band is for having an unoriginal name....."Hope" is another often used word in "hardcore" bands names...
As I lay Dying
If Hope Dies (hey theres two)
Hope conspiracy
As Hope Dies (wow...another one)
Die Trying
Everytime I Die (but I like them...)
To/Die/For
There's a lot more, but I just dont care anymore.

listen to "The Rising" by ZAO. It's one of they're newer songs and it's awsome! You can watch the music video to it at www.zaoonline.com click on multimedia and scroll to the bottom and click the last icon box to view it.

I don't like them, but I can't say I despise them.
I'd still switch CDs if someone put one in.

As I Lay Dying is much too repetitive for me, lacking vision. Zao, on the other hand, I thought Liberate Te Ex Inferis was an incredible work.

The reason As I Lay Dying has a incomplete sentence for their name is because its the title of a famous novel. Like I've said many times before, they're my fav hardcore/metalcore band. I'm not much of a hardcore kinda guy since I like about 5 or 6 metalcore bands because if you hear one metalcore band, you've heard them all. I like As I Lay Dying because they stand out and Tim Lambesis is a awesome vocalist.

Zao is a funny band.
They are always switching members and what not.
...Yet they never seem to die out, though i'm glad the original vocalist came back. Nothing beats Dan's 'hardcore' vocals.
