Anyone ever heard of this band? I just got a few songs by them I thik they sound pretty awesome. Anyone know fi they have a website? I couldn't find one just wondering if anyone else knew or not.

Jungle Rot is awesome. I don't think they have a website but check out the olimpic records site, they might have some shit on them.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Jungle Rot sounds pretty African, heheh. The actual meaning of jungle rot is an infection that people get at war when they don't clean their wounds. That has the potential to be a good name, just sounds kinda gay. They should've gone with Gangrene or something (althoughI think there's already a band with that name).

That's right, I'm pulling a three-and-a-half-year recycle. This thread got nowhere near enough attention.
Jungle Rot is third on my "Old-school death metal bands that I listen to regularly" list, after Entombed and Obituary, and first on my "Let's listen to songs about war!" list before Bolt Thrower. They have a very stompy bass-driven sound that never deviates much from straight ahead, but they have the happy knack of writing groovy riffs. Actually, they have more than a passing resemblance to Dethklok in the way the vocals/guitars work.
I didn't like War Zone (last year's album) so much, but you know how critical I can be of ordinary death metal. Anyway, they have a back catalogue all the way to the mid-90s which is full of fun stuff.
Today's message is: go and listen to Jungle Rot, because it is fun. The flavour.

For reasons I can't fathom, myspace audios don't work on my computer anymore. Only song I know by this band is 'Gasping For Air', which I got off a sampler CD.
I've been thinking of ordering one of their albums, though. Suggestions?

ehhh Morta Skuld from Milwaukee (a 45 minute drive from where Jungle Rot live/practice) was alot better at the time, or Accidental Suicide/Viogression, but Jungle Rot has lasted alot longer.

I don't really like them very much. I saw them live(alongside Krisiun, Hate Eternal and Incantation) and I was kinda bored during half their set.

One of my favorite & most likely the first death metal band I got into, so JR will always have a special place for me
I own alot of their shit too. Including two shirts, a hoodie, two comic books, the demos and most of their cd's
