Well ima order a custom jackson one of these days and both are the same price. All i ever hear people say is one or the other is better but not why. The only thing ive seen on a website is some kahler have wobbly trem bars. So what exactly is the difference between them and what can u do on one that you cant do on the other?

The Kahler isent a floating bridge like the floyd, theres 2 little springs in the back of the unit that adjust themselves to different tunings so you dont have to fuck around everytime you change tuning like you do on a floyd. Its also easier to change strings. Id say get one over a floyd. And might I recommend the Death Angel body shape?? Its a pretty original shape that looks cool as hell.

a kahler is better, stays in tune better and its more sturdy too.

an ORIGINAL Floyd is pretty good though, a kahler just has some slight advantages, go play an ESP haneman (with the kahler) and another guitar with an original floyd rose, then you'll see for yourself.

Unfortunately the places in my area just have a buncha ibanez, fenders, and gibson. i had to get my jackson i have now in tennessee when i was visiting my relatives so i wont get to play a kahler anytime soon (i dont even think ive seen anything here with an original floyd rose). Where can i see a pic of the death angel?

Thanks, that looks quite a bit niftier than the floyd roses ive seen. and i learned howto solder badly when i tried to install my pickups so i think i could solder strings easy enough. All with cold solder joints, just like my pickups.

Might I suggest ordering from GMW? They do alot of custom work on guitars and you can get any body shape you want. Chances are it wil be cheaper too.

I just went to the jackson site, and a neck-through-body guitar in any shape you want with the cheapest of everything else is $3660! Fuck.

You might be able to get it cheaper. There is an all hand crafted guitar shop in Russia called Shamray. You can check out their work on the message board. They have a thread for every guitar they build and update it with pictures so the buyer (and other) and see the work. Only bad part is shipping ends up being like $150.
