well i got one of these for christmas. i been playing it a lot but i cant have it at a high volume as its in the house. i am playing through a Randall RA4x12XLT cabinet. my problem is that the distortion sounds really bassy. i have played about with the EQ and got it to the best i can but i was wondering is it because it aint turned up that much? i am also getting an EMG 81 for my guitar and i am hoping this will make a difference in the distortion as well

the emg will definately sound different from your stock pickup, i don't know if it will drastically change the bassy eq problem you have, but try turning down the lows and turn up the highs. and i'd imagine you will get a little more sizzle and treble when you turn it up too. and when your parents leave for awhile just crank it up a bit and see if that sounds better, you might need to have different settings for low and high volumes.

@metalmilitia well i thought at first when i got it, it dont sound as good as everyone says it does. BUT and that is a big BUT when u crank it past 3 volume then jesus H does it kick out some sound special through my Randall RA412XLT speaker Cab. so yeh i think its fucking badass. but cos the cab i have now is a slanted one i am also gonna buy a marshall flat cab 4x12 so then i have both top and bottom end.

my favorite randall is the vmax something or other with twin preamps, i'm not sure exactly what its called, but i played one for about 15 minutes once and i was impressed.
the warhead is worth about 1/4 of what they are asking for it.
the cyclone is pretty nice,
and the rh100 & 200's are good too, i like them way better than the warhead.
and other than that i'm not to sure how i feel about the other ones i have or havent played.
