I only listened to their latest album, the Sham Mirrors, which is quite atmospheric. It's definitely not a metal album though. But it's still really good, in my opinion. Great drumming by Hellhammer also.

Yeah, I know they're metal but they changed A LOT since their first album. Well... you could classify them as Experimental/Avant-garde metal I guess... but who cares anyway? The only thing to know is that this band rocks, period.

Ill give you a very useful hint as well. ANYTIME i ever need to find an official band site that is hard to find i go to one place. My search engine, then type in "official band pages-A" thats if you are looking for bands under A (of coarse) as for B it is "official band pages-B", and so on. I have found many hard sites to locate here. And they are official. Its run by geocities and its very useful for me. Hope that helps!

Aspera Hiems Symphonia is my fav. symphonic BM album, although i dont listen to much of the genre. they r clever musicians

I think they have never toured cause everyone in
Arcturus plays in many bands, I have heard though that
after Garm left the band and the singer from Spiral Architect
joined them there was a possibility for them to tour
but they still haven't done a tour.
I don't think their music would be good played live
(especially songs from La Masquerade Infernale)

I saw them live last Sunday and it's
probably the best concert I've been to(only
bad thing was that they only played an hour)!
The new singer is quite good,I didn't expect
him to be this good(especially his black metal vocals
I expected to be shit but they were very good).
The whole show was quite theatrical.

Arcturus = Avant-Garde Metal, one of my favorite genres.

They played in Thessaloniki(their 8th concert ever as
they said).
They are on a small tour around Europe(funny thing
that they played at Thessaloniki,usually bands
play at Athens.Lucky me! ).
They'll only paly about 10 concerts.

If they play near you don't miss the concert it's
worth it.

Good band

I burnt Sideshow Symphonies and the Sham Mirrors off a friend. Sham Mirrors is awesome. It's like getting a blow job from a keyboard if a keyboard had boobs and a mouth.

Sideshow Symphonies, for some stupid reason, isn't working for me so I either have to reburn it or get the real thing.

I have it saved to my library and it still skips around so I'm gonna have to go hunting.

One of my favorite bands of all time.
Everyone should check out "Aspera Hiems Symfonia" and "La Masquerade Infernale" to hear some of the best music ever written.
"Sham Mirrors" had a few excellent songs on it.
But Arcturus without Garm = pointless, so I'm not too shaken about them splitting up.
