Acrylic Guitars
I've been thinkin about buyin a fairly cheap acrylic guitar (for metal) for ages and all i've come across are these galveston ones and a couple of others of ebay. Does anyone no of any real decent acrylic guitars and where i can purchase one? i found what seems to be a fairly decent lookin galveston acrylic but i dunno whether it plays well (see attached pic)

I've heard some good things about the acrylic series from bc rich. the only thing I wouldn't like about them is the platinum series necks. I say, you get one of the acrylic series bc riches, then buy an NJ series neck for it. There is something esle in question about acrylic guitars in general though. One wouldn't think that they have a good tone. The reason being, that they are made entirely of plastic, which is reminicient of the Devil Girl guitar which was made by ltd and got bad reviews. You should check out harmony central and see what people who have one have to say as well.

Look at Joe Satriani's new model from Ibanez. It looks jellyfishish. Its kinda cool although I'm not a fan of the acrylics.

to me, those are the kind of guitars people buy to hang on walls and goof around with, because they look cool.
i've played a few and they don't sound as good as they look, so if you want to play one seriously, then i would suggest active pickups. plus most of them weigh a fucking ton.

I wouldnt think so because the neck is wood and the body is not... and i dont think Acrylic is ver resonate

I was playing an acrylic warlock in a store and it had pretty nice sustain. Better than my Ibanez.

i've decided to drop my idea of getting a acrylic/plastic guitar. It wasnt really the best idea ever. I finally tryed that esp devil girl, and it was pretty poor. Many thanks anyways
