Drum Setup
Ok well I need some help with the setup of my drums (since I am new to them basically.) Well I will explain here....... I am right handed and right now have the drums set up like normal (hihat above snare on the left hand side and then floor tom on the right like your playing the drums) and instead of hitting the hi hat with my right hand like where you cross your arms over I hit it with my left even though I am right handed. Does that mean that I have to set up my hi hat on the other side of my drum set (right hand side) and then put the floor tom on the left and switch the toms and cymbals around or does it not matter? Someone today told me that your supposed to turn it all around if you do that but I don't see why? If anyone can please tell me the correct way then it will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

there in no 'correct way' of setting up your kit, its just how you prefer it.
Just find out what set-up is best for you, thats the correct way

Usually people do switch their setup when they play drums like you, but if you can play it with the hi-hat on your left, don't make it yourself difficult and leave the setup like it is now.
