Ride the lightening tone

Can anyone help me set up my amp and pedals to give me Hetfields Ride the Lightning tone, or close. My equipment is as follows.

Marshall dsl 100 and 1960A cab

Boss Mt2

Boss GE7

Jackson King v with sd hum pups

All I know is that the old metallica is absolutly no mids and turn up the highs and lows.

do you actually use your metalzone for your main distortion? i think a dsl could smoke a metalzone anyday.

Use the distortion on the amp, not the pedal. And turn the gain, treble and bass up full, and take out all the mids.

I have DSL too and i doubt u could get anywhere near that tone boys....

there's absolutely nothing wrong with that old school. that was one of the greatest albums :P

scoop the mids on everything. make your treble a little higher.. and do use your pedal, and your jsm isn't gonna sound like that on it's own.

maybe what u needed to do what switch pickups, lol. jk.. u should get that tone easily with your equip if u go full bass/treble and no mids
