1. good analogue distortion (screw digital distortion  )
2. versatility.... you can get a realy wide range of distortion
3. boss (they make realy reliable stomp boxes... this baby realy takes a beating and keeps on distorting)
btw... this should be in the gear section

You also have all the frequncies for boasting and cutting. And it doesnt go nuts when u turn it up like other distortion pedals. Im with Spikyhairz ..... screw digital distortion LOL  |

i own b oth and they both have good and bad qualities...but is more satisfying in the end.

I have a Marshall amp. No need for a stomp box 
i do own it, though. (I got it before the amp...) I liked it. it gave you a real low end distortion that rivals a marshall or VHT.

The Boss MT-2 is a very good pedal specially with the 4 band eq, but I personally perfer notto use them in favour of an amp distortion (purely for the sake of not using a stompbox)
I would suggest it over most other stompboxes for a "metal" sound though.

i've owned both in the past, and at the same time as each other, i liked the mt-2 better, it was more versitile, better built, more reliable, and i just liked the way it sounded better. i still think the dod grunge is a sweet pedal though.
either way i don't care because my mesa could blow them both away.

ABOUT the DOD, I've played it, and I think it sucks, the big one.
I have an MT-2 myself and I'm satisfied with it.
however, theres is this small thing called 'personal preference'
if the boyo here loves his cock, uh, dod, just let him enjoy it, mister KennyEire can go fuck himself and try both pedals in the nearest guitar store.
