fretboard question
i was messin around with the action on my guitar and i noticed the top of the fretboard was rounded. well considerin thatd just make everything harder to play i wanna know why the hell they do that cuz i saw in the japanese esp custom shop you can have it where its just flat.

The curve makes the fretboard easier to play, not harder, stupid.

Yhe i think it for when the string get thinner, the fretboard rounds up so u need to put the same ammount of pressure as the string before it not more.

my fretboard is just in a upside down u so i have to press the thinner ones down alot more than the middle ones

Then your action is off.
The reason for having radiused fingerboards is that it's easier to play chords on tighlty radiused ones than flat ones. However, lead work can be tricky with the really tight radiis (like 7½ inches and stuff, like old Telecasters), so most fingerboards nowadays are between 10" and 16".
