Just to offer some advise, I'll say this:
I use a Boss GX-700 (rack-mount multieffect) which I've set up to simulate a Boss MT2 -> Peavey 5150 -> "Metalstack". I've got no idea what the metalstack is supposed to be, but it sounds kinda similar to the two Matshall stacks that the GX-700 can do.
That's all I can say though.

The 5150's seem to be the one to get buddy, every1 on this forum seems to love them. Marshall are good too, although the distortion rate is a bit slow so have distorion isnt that heavy. But it is nice Its what I have (JCM 2000 DSL)
Shouldnt this be in gear talk?? Anyways if you on a budget the Warp 7 by Hughes and Kettner isent a bad choice. The clean channel is acually very clean sounds really good. But if you have more to spend then definetly check out a 5150 but beware it has NO clean channel, the clean channel is still a little gritty but I think it sounds good. So go and try out sum of the stack mentioned decide for yourself

I think the Warp 7 sounds like a head version of a Metalzone, I like metalzones (i have 1) but I dunno, it just sounds too like one. Also there isnt that much level out of it.

Yeh its a good idea to have a equalization pedal to use with the warp 7 seeing as the acually equalization on the amp does next to nothing
