You must also hire a couple really high singing male leads as singers.....preferably from a church choir or something.
Also, you all need long blond hair down to your asses, incredibly tight worn out jeans, and flowery shirts. Cowboy boots wouldn't hurt either.
Last but not least, a big banner that says 80's metal lives on!

Don't forget to memorize your D&D manual by heart! Oh, and if your going to make a band, its almost required to have either the words "Dragon", "Elf", "Knight", "Magic" or "Mystical" in your band's name. If you don't, you'll be critiqued by all of us.

but back on topic for power metal you want your distortion to be fairly high, with little to no bass, and play mostly major notes(rather than minor)
