And i think powersofterror is partly right......and partly wrong. Metal isn't about satanic things and going against christianity.....that's mainly what Black metal is about, and to a lesser extent some Death Metal. But Metal as a whole is more about the actual music, energy, the defiance of authority.......not necessarily about praising the lord from below.

Personally it's 30%(ideology)/70%(music) while I listen music. I see no point why anyone would do black metal if they do not support it's true message? Same as Gospel music, Reggae and any music that have some ideological views.

as a matter of fact, I listen to the music 110% for the music and dont give a crap to ideologies...as far as black metal is concerned, i would rather check out albums & songs rather than get a number of how many churches some guy burnt or how many people someone killed or wotever crap

I don't understand why so many of you hate Christian metal bands just because of their religion. That seems so ignorant. Their beliefs have nothing to do with the way they sound. That's such a stupid reason to hate a band. As long as the music is still good I like them, regardless of the beliefs and opinions of the minds creating the music. I listen to a lot of Christian metal, but I also listen to a lot of black metal and bands like Deceide who are openly against religion. It doesn't matter to me, as long as the music is still there.

My favorite Christian metal band is ZAO. My favorite songs of theirs are 'Exchange' and 'Free The Three."

Christian metal is the same way as any other type of metal (or music for that matter.) Some of it sucks and some of it is good. it makes no sense to judge an entire genre of music based on a stupid thing like religion.

I really don't like the idea of classifying bands as Christian and Satanic for reasons like that. Because belief does not describe the sound of the music.

It makes no sense to base an entire genre of music on religion either. And christianity isn't what "metal" is about. Its quite the opposite. So christian "metal" bands arn't really "metal"...they're christian rock or whatever.
