Feedback problems with effects/amp...

Can anyone help. I play with a Marshall AVT Valvestate with a BOSS MT2. As soon as i stomp my effects, without touching strings i get shit loadsa feedback.

Can anyone recommend a helpful configuration of parameters to use on amp/effect to help solve the issue?

Thanks

well, the point is, you get most feedback because:

a) your gain is too high
b) you're volume is too high
or c) your guitar is too close to the amp

there isn't much you can do about it, other than to turn down volume and gain (but that makes your sound wussy and fit for blues)

so rather, spend some money on a decent noise gate...you can't go wrong on boss, so get one of boss'es noise gates..

ohyea, and if you don't want to cut down on volume or gain, or buy a noise gate, don't remove your fingers from the strings then
