can someone please explain me the technique "stacato"?

I found it in the beggining of the song "Wings" of the band Vader

Staccato is a way of playing. Just as Legato. A Legato is when you smoothen your playing and Staccato is also similar. Really, I'm sure you've played this styles before without even thinking about it. I suggest you listen to the song and hear how Vader plays.
