All guitarists...PLease help
Hi all,
I am currently in an awkward predicament. At band practice on the weekend my guitar got written off I intended to purchase a new guitar soon anyway, but now urgently have to. Buying a guitar is obviously not an easy choice. It would be great to have some feedback and experiences/recommendations from fellow guitarists out there.
I was thinking of getting Jackson WR1 warrior, also WRMG. But Gibson SG also appeals to me. Im after a very light weight/comfortable guitar, with good pick-ups and ultra-fast neck Bearing in mind i play in gothic metal band which requires both great rythm and lead playing mixed with clean parts.
Thanks for your time.

umm, try as many guitars as you can.
jackson, esp, gibson, bcrich, ibanez, and some yamahas (ahem), should be on your list to try out.
i personally prefer ESP Vs, but dont take my word on them, coz almost every one ive talked to say theyre shit. so, play em all and decide for yourself.
good luck

what the guy above said. My ibanez is still the best out of anything else ive ever played, including a few Les Pauls. So dont think price means much of shit.

They had the WRMG Warrior in but i got the last one, i'm pretty sure they'll order one in for you though, they have next day delivery and you can order over the phone if you don't like ordering over the net.

Upper class Jackson (like the one you are talking about) have amazing clean tone, even with a shit amp. And they have a good metal tone, but it seems lacking if you are used to the sound of a super high gain pick up (EMGs). Gibsons are a rip off. They are no where near worth the price.

I think the WRMG is best bet now. Although ive been told the EMG Hz pick-ups arnt too good. So im thinking of changing the pick-ups to the Zakk Wylde set (81-85).
Is this a good idea?

I've got no experience of the warrior, but the website says it's got an alder body, like the KE3 (of which I've got a *little* bit more experience (it's my main guitar since 6 months)) and the zw set in my ke3 sounds neat, so I'd say it's not a bad idea if you've got the money. only thing i'd say is that the 85 tends to be a bit muddy in the neck position (at least for me), so i've got my 85 in the bridge, and the 81 in the neck instead.

Sg's
I had an Sg, I threw it across the room, it was never the same again..... If your in a gothic metal band check this out http://www.music123.com/Item/?itemno=76287 you may have to upgrade pickups but its a savage guitar. Ive heard no complaints about em!!! www.music123.com is the best online site for music equipment!!! And its safe as pie too. In my opinion if you want "Im after a very light weight/comfortable guitar, with good pick-ups and ultra-fast neck" Ibanez is prob your best bet, there presicion built......... ooohh Im goin to play now

SGs are supposed to be super light. I've haven't actually tried one so don't take my word for it.

mmmm if you ask me that voodoo SG, 2 posts up, my opinion is that they are butt ugly, i would go for jackson, and then the MG series, they play really smooth. But thats my opinion

In my opinion, the best...
Electric Guitars are Ibanez and Jackson
Acoustic Guitars are Martins, Yamahas, and Ovations
Pedals are Boss
Guitar Amps are Peavey
Basses are Yamaha, Peavey, and Ibanez (not much experience in bass equipment)
Bass Amps are Fender, G-K, and Ampeg
I'm pretty sure Vox stuff is nice and the B-52 seems to rock

I find SGs, Les Pauls, an othe things that don't have much mass at the end like a strat (like a v) to be awkward (at least while sitting).
