if it is not the pot, then its probably the earthing of the circuitry in your guitar. perhaps a lose connection somewhere? or the shielding somewhere is fukked...

Question

no, i checked that. it sounds like there is some shit in the pot, but there isn't. maybe it is fucked up by corrosion?

if its the pot for sure, get some compressed air in there, could be some grit and loose dirt. thats what i did once and it did the trick.

you can buy little 250ml cans of compressed air in computer or supply stores in case youre wondering, and only cost a couple of bucks.

ive been thinkin about it, but im sure now its a bad ground.

try this, plug your guitar and another guitar into the same amp, (one after the other of course), and see how much noise there is with the volume on the guitars turned silent.

the other guitar needs to have a good ground.

if your guitar makes a heap of static like noise and the other guitar makes almost none, than youve got the problem right there, bad ground.

no, there is no noise when the guitar is turned down, while i turn the pot, the noise is there, so i would not be able to turn my guitar down on stage

you could use a volume pedal if you really need to turn down onstage, If it dosen't have to be foot controllable you could make one quite easily.

just install a kill switch to use when u want no sound... u flip a switch and it cuts the signal.
