Can anyone give me some advice on a guitar for death metal?
Can anyone give me some ideas of what guitar i should get?
My influences are children of bodom, iron maiden, immortal, old cradle of filth... i am looking for a guitar that will be good for Black metal/death metal.
Oh, and something that's not to expensive, hopefully about £600 are lower.

Check out the the schecter diamond series. I played on my buddie's guitar,
I think he has a C-1 w/ an EMG 81 in it. That guitar sounds so good, it really
crunches a lot, and lots of sustain because of it's a strung thru body. If you
can find one at a good price, go with a USA Jackson Rhoads. I have one, and
I still have yet to find a guitar that can outdo it for death metal, even with the
stock duncan pickups in it.

Thanks for the info, have you played the Jacksons WRMG Warrior though, i much prefer the shape compared with the Jackson rhoads, i've never played any of them though so i wouldn't know which is best.

i've got a kramer vanguard us pro (like a jackson rhoads' and its ideal for death but it has quite a hefty price tag and i had to order it from america. Anyway an ideal guitar for death would probly be a guitar with a floyd, good pickups and a nice neck. I'm thinkin probly a Jackson Dinky!! The jackson rhoads shape is real comfortable standing but hard to play sitting

I screwed up man, it wasn't a C-1...it was the 006. Yeah that
one shreds with the 81 in it for sure! Also, go for a guitar with
a body made of a dense wood material, and a fixed or strung
through body with a set neck. That will give you incredible sustain.
Mordor is right on the Dinky, that's a mean axe! I have the DXMG.
It's affordable, has a really fast neck, and is comfortable to play.
It jsut doesn't sustain for shit. Go with a USA one if you can afford
it. Ebay is your ticket.

well that 006 schecter has some pretty good sustain because
of the strung thru design, and it's very affordable. The one I
played was a bolt on, but try out the set neck versions and see
what they do for you, but the bolt on is pretty damn good. If
you want a jackson, go with a USA built.

Death Metal Axe
Try the Epiphone Gothic Series... they sound pretty close to the Gibsons. I would never change the pickups in my Gibson Gothic Explorer... what a heavy, fat sound they have. I've played the Epiphones, and for the price, I don't think they can be beat.
