Best Meshuggah?
What do you think is the best Meshuggah song/album?
My opinion is:
Best songs in no particular order:
New Millenium Cyanide Christ
Don't Speak
Gods of Rapture
Ritual
Erroneous Manipulation
Rational Gaze
Concatenation
Fuck - I think I listed too many
Best album:None (only 4 songs, but such musical genius)

1.I would say Contradictions Collape,
but my favorite song is We'll Never See The Day and Choirs Of Devastation.
2.And second would be Destroy Erase Improve, and my fav songs from there
are Future Breed Machine and Soul Burn.
3.Third would be None, Humiliative and Sickening are my fav songs from that
album.

Futile Bread Machine
Hell, ya! I love the random songs they wrote on "some kind of influence." Like Ayahuasca Experience!

Futile Bread Machine is an acoustic version of Future Breed Machine. It's on the album True Human Design. That album also has a live version and a slower remix of Future Breed Machine - You should check it out if you realy like that song. As for other Meshuggah albums, Contradictions Collapse was their first widespread release and it sounds a little more old school like D.E.I. combined with maybe some old Metallica. I would say None is a lot like D.E.I. Chaosphere came out after D.E.I and it's got more heavy thrashing and less of the quiet, creepy solos like in the middle of Future Breed Machine and Sublevels. Nothing is their new album which is even more heavy than Chaosphere because I guess they used 8 string guitars and Jens's voice is a little more raspy.

Thanks, got to it before I did. (and Tomas does the vocals, its sweet!)
I guess he did vocals on "Spasm" from Nothing, also.
I loved the advertisments for Nothing when it came out....
"You'll get Nothing, and like it."

Personally i think, while meshuggah are great musicians, they are incredibly over-rated. Musicianship is absolutely stunning no doubt, but i feel the band needs to work on writing albums rather than songs. DEI and Chaosphere were a bunch of songs lumped together. And Nothing is more on track for meshuggah on the 'album writing' concept.
However tracks that have rocked my socks off are:
Neurosis
Strengah
Soulburn
Terminal Illusions.

Meshuggah are pretty good but I'd have to say their best album is probably the None EP. Ritual and Gods Of Rapture are great songs. I like all their about the same though.
