I have been given a spot in a newer metal band in my area. The last guitarist didn't cut it (he was a fucking country/blues player!!). They have a power/thrash metal sound with their rhythm section. And I just love that!! I was just wonderin what sort of stuff that Iced Earth's guitarist uses because I think that that sound would mesh perfectly.

The only info I've ever seen on that topic is what can be read on their site, which is that Jon prefers Gibson (mainly Explorers or LPs) that he runs through his custom Larry all-tube amp run through 2 straight Marshall 1960 lead series cabinets with 75 watt Celestions. For the clean sounds he often uses a chorus pedal, afaik.

But that's all I've ever heard. I don't know anything about the lead players who have been in the band, except that Larry Tarnowski did (at least occasionally) use a Jackson KE2 during the Horror Show tour.
