Now a little bit of amp help.
If you have read my last post, you will know what kind of amp I have. It is not the greatest of amps, but it is loud. I am hoping to invest into a head/cab setup soon. I have a few heads in mind right now. If you can give me any opinions or suggestions I would be thankful.
I am wondering about getting a Randall Titan head, Randall RH200 head, or getting a POD pro 2.0/power amp setup (if the cash holds out).
Once again, if you can provide any info on any of these amps I will be grateful.

I don't like Randall's, they don't have the tone I like... theres better alternatives...
my favorite amp brands are Engl and Hughes and Kettner, however, tone is a personal taste...
I'm not too fond of fx pedals or generators either, the only thing you need is a good amp with descent distortion. it kinda depends on how much you have to spend and what kinda tone you're looking for.

I'm looking for something that not only has a large wattage, but can put out some serious low end. I'm dark/speed metal guy so I would like to have the serious bottom end coulped with tight & toneful distortion, since I spend a lot of time trem pickin.
I also am lookin for somethin in the 5-600 range.

dollars?
mm, you're not going to get really far with that, if you want a descent top/cab. the hughes and kettner warp 7 (yeah they call it a nu-metal amp) is cheap (about 700) and its a 100w solid state with a lot of power, I know a guy who uses it in a metalcore band and it sounds kickass with any guitar, plus its relatively cheap...
if you got more to spend, I'de advise to look at ENGL amps, they're only tube and they're loud as fuck, plus they have a great tone... I prefer them over marshall's and peavey's etc. but they're not supercheap...

I am talking about spending 5-600 on the head alone. I have a friend who has a big ass PA that I can run the head through for now. I will invest in a cab at a later date.

ah, that's better, how's it with music stores over there? I dunno about america, I guess its a whole shitload of marshalls and randalls everywhere.
thats the powerball, http://www.musik-service.de/ProduX/...owerball_EN.htm
but its outta your price range,
this is the ENGL screamer, 50w all tube, but louder then most 100 w heads, this baby rocks, and its cheaper in the USA,
http://www.music-town.de/shop/galle...0710200053.html
also, maybe a peavey is an option, like the XXX, XXL, 5150, but you gotta play any of these amps before you'll know if you'de like the sound of it with your guitar hooked up to it. for about 7/8/9 you'll have enough choice, but you can also look for used stuff I guess.

And on a final note. I was just thinking, how would a crate Blue Voodoo head sound. I already have an overdrive pedal to push the lead channel farther.
Also, how would my other crate (mx120r) sound if I swapped the guitar speakers for some eminence bass speakers?

well, I'm not a fan of Crate amps, I played their high end stuff and I wasn't impressed.
your amp would sound muddy as fuck if you'de swap the speakers, plus the power amp won't be able to power those driver units properly. bad idea.
just go out to all stores in the area and play every fucking amp you see untill you play one which suits you!

Yes, you can actually go pretty far with $5-600 if you are looking for solid-state. (You mentioned Randall so I'll just make the assumption) Anyways, I'm using a B-52 head and cab (200watts), it's solid-state but it's the loudest and best sounding one I've ever used. This thing holds its own against Marshalls and that's no B.S.
I'm playing death metal and I've got all the low-end I need with it and plus the stack was $610 new, at Guitar Center. It's worth your time to check one out.
EDIT: I just read all of your posts so I guess I'm no help...

You could try the MG marshall
You could try the Marshall head from the MG series. It is low but I think it has 100 watts.

the MG series suck balls, you can get better amps for your money in that range...
the warp 7, well, if you try it you'll notice it has a lot of distortion in the lead channel, and I do mean a LOT. you can get a really distorted sound if you would want it, its meant for 7 string guitars and downtuning, it handles low tones really, really well.
also, it packs a serious punch, it's non tube but its still loud, and it's the best deal for your money in that price range, its branded as a nu-metal amp, but thats just marketing. the new Warp-T is kickass, but its twice as expensive, its full tube too and has great tone (however, this is the case with any H&K amp.) find one and try it, you won't be dissapointed.

I agree
I have to agree with def. The marshall mg series doesn't live up to the hype that marshall gives them. I have played the mg80rcd combo before. It sucked. It was ok at first, but that was at 1 for volume. Both of the lead channels broke up after I turned it past 5. It also sounded like "cheap" distortion (a-la ds1). All in all, definately not worth the cash.
But does anybody know how a peavey xxl sounds? I found a 100w head for 400, and I am wondering if it can cut it in the distortion.

the XXL sounds good, thats a sweet deal too, I like it better then the XXX which is more of a mesa triple rect ripoff..
the XXL has a crunchy kind of distortion, it has a lot op options too, I played it only once but I did get a good impression of its sound, its better then a warp 7 (makes sense its way more expensive too.) and its a good alternative for a marshall TSL100, however, a JCM900 has a tighter distortion if you ask me.
I guess you found that top second hand? if so, go and play it, it's my favorite peavey amp (to me it sounded much better then the XXX and 5150 I&II.) the only thing you'll need with it is a descent cab (preferably the peavey cab with jensen speakers)

Hey there. Got another question.
I just found a peavey supreme 160 head. It is a solid state head with 160w. It is going on ebay for $200. Any thoughts?

its not a bad head, i personally like the xxl better. but the best thing you can do is try it out for yourself, go to a local peavey dealer and try out the xxl and or the supreme and see if you even like either of them.
