Tobias basses...
Has anyone had any experience with these? I have read nothing but good reveiws on them but then again sites most likely won't post the negative remarks. This is the one that I am looking at, so if you could give me any more info on them it is greatly appreciated. http://www.musicyo.com/product_specs.asp?pf_id=333
Also does anyone know if Ibanez still has the Iceman basses out(sean ysealt from white zombie played it)? I have looked on google but I have found nothing but iceman guitars. Thanks

Ibanez doesn't do the Iceman anymore
all Tobias basses are good but an aqcuired taste, however, they're pretty kickass overall, and expensive too.

There are not so expensive anymore.
I think they are manufactured in Corea now and you can just buy them at musicyo.com. And that'S the problem, you can't play before you buy them.
But the old Tobias-basses are good. Can't say anything about the new ones.

yeah, Korea, that's LOW QUALITY land... heheh. its the same with non-american jackson and shit, they all roll of the Samick factory... crappy.
ofcourse, the non-korea models kick ass. but you pay for it too.

Since Tobias has been bought out by Gibson the quality has severely gone down hill.
You have Toby's (which you've linked to) and it's American counterpart which from what I heard is absolutely horrible, especially for the $6K list price. Once again, this proves that Gibson should stick to guitars.
From the few Toby's I've tried, they played pretty nice but the sound could have been a bit better. Could be worth it to eventually put some new electronics.
It's also likely to be heavy with an all maple body.
