I read the top 100 guitarists by the rolling stone and i agree with everyone who replied that it is complete shit so i though i might make a shorter but in my belief more accurate
1. Zakk Wylde
2. Kirk Hammet

In your Top10 i don't see Malmsteen(although he is a bit gay, he plays incredible,), i don't see Steve Ray Voughan, No Satriani, what about them? they belong in that list to.. (i mean you have a good list but :S don't forget these guitarplayers. I mean Kerry King is ok but :S voughan, satriani and Malmsteen are way up above him and don't forget Dave Murray He's so damn good

ok well thanks for contributing to the thread instead of being a complete twat like everyone else. yeah i guess your right but to me kerry king is more influencial but thats only to me, because i really like the music slayer wright so thats what i learn so i wanted to mention him. what about darrel do you think he should be there? I deffinately think that zakk should, have you heard the acoustic solos he does for black label society? |

i think kirk hammet should not be on place two for he is one of the most overrated guitarrists and i miss alexi laiho and what all the others said: vai, malmsteen, SRV, Murray, and Paul Gilbert is another very good guitarist

there is no way that kirk hammet is over rated, when you think about it, most guitarists now, were and are probably influenced by him, you can deffinately tell in zakk wylde's playing that he deffinately took a bit of inspiration from him even though he has been around for nearly as long as metallica, also the way he plays the solos perfectly live is amazing, i know that there is the big argument how he shows no movement on stage but thats just his preference, and i really cant imagine kirk hammet headbanging and head swinging!
