Line6 HD147 + Boss GT-6

I'm not able to test this in one of the nearby stores, so I was wondering...

I've been to Line6 site - the HD147 looks great.
But I have a boss gt-6.
I don't understand fuck of Line6's talk about additional stompboxes and stuff...
Can I just get that digital head+cab, put it on clean and use my GT6 to get the same distortion I get now?
