seriously, do wrist curls and extensions, definitely. and maybe some back and shoulder exercises too, for those nights when you'll be playing those long gigs with a Les Paul or something.

...he said forearm and hand...I couldn't resist .
Yeah, lift weights, and stretch your hands and wrists before you play...especially stretch your hands and wrists before masturbating, you woudn't want to pull any muscles...

well becuase you're getting fatigued, you should try to increase the stamina not the strength. so do low weights, high reps.

i suggest strengthening your neck and your back by going to the gjm etc and looking at your posture to see if its correct. Theres no need to strengthen ure arms and if u do, u may aswell strengthen ure tricep not ure bicep.
I've been goin to the gjm for the past 2 months now and am just starting to build up some serious muscle. anyways going to the gjm, doing weights etc really helps improve flexibility, speed, and fitness. Therefore allows u to play for longer and more relaxed.

it's "gym"
Working out will help if you play guitar using a lot of your wrist and triceps. A better thing to do is get in the habit of playing with your fingers rather than wrist. Use your wrist when going from string to string but you really only need to use your fingers when playing. I don't know if you get what I'm talking about...im drunk

You stupid prat.
And yes, these guys have the right idea. Beating it (high reps, fast speed) really builds muscle. Trust me...

only 770? puss. 230 is pretty good half the guys on my team cant go over 250 so good times. do that rowing machine that shit works your jacking off muscles and your biceps and pecs at the same time. good guitarage workout. and dont quit playing guitar while your working out and come back and play the night before a show. your fingers fucking bleed like theres no tomorrow, i mean its a cool stage effect bleeding all over your instrument(now thats dedication) but its a bitch to heal.

Yeah, but I'm a scrawny little guy, chicken legs, wide shoulders, and long arms...
And I have never bleed from playing too much because I have calluses.
...oh, and that reminds me, I also get cramps in the hand. Stretch before you play!!!

I lift weights regularly, but that still won't help everything. My right hand never gets tired, but my left hand tends to wear out when I'm playing a long solo, especially one with lots of hammer ons and pull offs. There are basically 2 techniques for playing solos. One, you pick most of the notes. Two, you sound most of the notes with your left hand. Find a riff where you play notes with your left hand, such as pull offs and hammer ons and things like that, and repeat them over and over without stopping for as long as you can. If you are playing a fairly difficult riff, it will eventually wear out your left wrist, you don't actually have to pick any of the notes unless you want to. See how long you can do it and then rest and do it again. It will eventually get your left hand in shape to play long solos without tiring. If you play mostly rythm, try different picking exercises. Like, pick the low E string, skip to the D string, and go back and forth as fast as you can repeatedly. This will improve your coordination and playing speed. Try it with all downstrokes. To make it harder, do a palm mute the entire time to keep from using your upper arm too much.
Specific exercises I would recommend would be: a hand grip (that thing you squeeze), wrist curls, reverse wrist curls, reverse curls (also works biceps, but very good for upper forearms), and throw in some work for the rest of your body to make standing with a guitar on your shoulder more bearable for long durations. Working your back will improve your posture.
