Misery Index
If you don't have Retaliate yet, you're a stupid fucking twat. This is one of the best sounding albums of this year, WITHOUT A FUCKING DOUBT. Argh. It's monstrous.

I saw them a mounth or so ago with Dying Fetus and I loved them. Good fucking stuff. How could it not be good with x-Fetus members? But it does sound awfully similar to Dying Fetus, which is better.

Nice songs.

I downloaded Retaliate off SoulSeek a few weeks ago. Been listening to it non-stop. It's unreal.

... and there's better tracks on the album.
The new sound is a little bit less derivative from Dying Fetus, and elevates them from great to truly awesome.

Oh yeah, I meant I downloaded the album. Not just the track. I think it beats Dying Fetus anyday.

The sound of the snare drum could have been more well-produced but
that's the only negative point to this record.

I gave the retaliate a listen last night, sounds a little too much like Dying Fetus for me. They're good at what they do though, I"ll give 'em that.

The new Index album is hard as shit, but I can't see how everyone thinks they sound just like Fetus. Fetus has way more breakdowns and groove, and with Index it's just an onslaught of straight pummling for the most part.

I don't think they sound *JUST* like Dying Fetus, but reminiscent of. It's a bowel-tremblingly good album. Leave it at that.

the retaliate cd is pretty good, sounds a little like dying fetus, but dying fetus is much better in my eyes.

Picked it up yesterday due to the hype on this board. Don't get me wrong it is some amazing shit, I personally think though, that it's too amazing that it actually gets boring. I could easily see my self in a pit for this or head banging immensly at a show but it's so much of the same...blast-beat wise. Maybe if the guitars were as prominent, volume-wise as the drums I would like it more.

retaliate is one of the best cds thats come out this year. all the songs are rippin but the only complaint i have is about the mix. little less snare, lot more guitar. demand the impossible and the unbridgeable chasm are amazing songs. over time misery index has started sounding less and less like dying fetus, but (amazingly) they sound better than they did a two years ago. Overthrow was pretty derivitive of DF, fewer time changes and fret wanker harmonic stuff (i dunno i play drums). the splits they released between then and now had more of the crusty/thrashy stuff on it, and i read an interview with Jason (who is one of the nicest metal guys ive ever met and talked to) saying that he finds most of his inspiration from the crust/grind scene these days, and that would explain that. but the album is fucking great, they were amazing live. yeah

ever since I bought the album, I changed my opinion on Misery Index.
I thought they would suck compared to Dying Fetus, but they exceeded
them. Misery Index were really fucking crazy when I saw em' on
Sept. 3 along with Dying Fetus and SKineless. The best act was definately
Misery Index.

No matter how good Misery Index get, they wont beat Dying Fetus live. Thoes pre-Stop At Nothing songs played live will rape just about anyone.

I a big Dying Fetus fan and bought Relaliate when I found out Jason and Sparky was in Misery Index, I like it! Musically, I think they sound like Dying Fetus, but I always thought Jason did the death vocals in Dying Fetus. Its still a great album. Is new Dying Fetus any good?

Destroy the Opposition and Killing on Adrenile are MUCH better than Stop At Nothing.

One thing they are missing. Talley. And I think Gallagher should do vocals by himself.
