scales.

Well i just learned the Melodic Minor scale. I wanted to learn all the inversions of it (dorian lydian blah blah). I found that this is extremely hard to remeber all the slight inversions and shit. Is it worth learning all of them? Or should i just learn the main scale of each thing like melodic minor, harmonic minor etc?
