Clean guitar?
I sound like SHIT clean. Does anyone know of a way to have the same type of sound, say, David Gilmour had? Clean solos sound like shit on my amp, right now... So, if anyone knows ANY pedals, etc to give a good, blues style sound to my guitar, please share

If you have a tube amp, maybe your gain is too high.

Like I said before, reverb and chorus.
Those come in pedals if you didn't know.

Hmm.. quite... forgot about that =D
Is the Boss Blues pedal any good?
My setup is:
Marshall avt50
Rp7
Ibanez Chorus/Flanger
Rarely do i use the Metal Zone. Too much feedback.
Is there ANYTHING i can add to my loop or utilize something i already have?
The only clean controls on the Avt50 are:
Gain, volume, low, and high. Fuckers jipped me out of a Mid control.

If you play with a hard pic, I think it may help to play with a softer one.

That's generally a good move... with that, though, if you want clean tone, and you're amp's not delivering (after you screw around with equalizers that fun stuff, possibly and Acoustic Sim. in the FX loops...), there's not much you can do about it.

if you want a good clean sound, turn the gain all the way down, turn the volume up a bit, but not too high, turn the low up to 9-10, put the treble on on 5-7, and just switch off of your bridge pickup (if you are using your bridge pickup for distorted sounds thats is).

you might try something like a seymore duncan pickup booster pedal, that thing improves your tone alot, for both clean and dist. and its only like $100 i think.
i would also suggest a mesa vtwin rackmount preamp if you can find one and dont mind spending about $300 for a used one(600 for a new one), i just bought one, it has 3 clean modes, amazing, and it also has 3 different dist modes, and you can actually blend the clean channel with the lead channel, but its just the preamp, you'd need to hook it up to a separate power amp, or plug it in pre like its a pedal for your amp and use it like that(i've done it before and it makes even shitty solid state combos sound amazing). its a bit steeper pricewise compared to a tone booster or something, but it will work wonders.

Yep
defiantely need an EQ
you can sculpt your sound to (generally) anything you like
Im using a Boss GE-7 and using that with a mix of reverb (or delay, depending on the song) can obtain gilmours sound quite easily. Not mention you can make your distortion kick even more ass with an EQ pedal.
Only disadvantage, especially with something like a 7 band equalizer, for someone with no experience in EQ, it can take a really long time to get the sound you're looking for. They require alot of patience. Ive sat here for hours fucking around with my pedal trying to get a particular sound, takes a long time, but eventually you get it, and with more practice you can obtain certain sounds quicker.
As a final note, keep in mind to run the pedal through your FX loop and not directly guitar -> amp, otherwise itll sound like garbage. (Seems alot of people make this mistake).

Im Sorry I took so long to clear things up, but I have a Randall RG80, and there is NO amp distortion, all of it comes from my Boss Metal Zone MT-2, so when I turn it off its all clean.

this will probably be out of the averages musicians budget
I saw In a show around my community where the guitarist had two amps. One for clean, and the other for distortion. I believe he had a jcm800 for his distortion, and a roland jc-120 w/ a 212 cab. I talked to him afterwards and he said that he just ran his guitar into a morley signal splitter (also known as the AB box) then to both amps. He was able to get some wicked tones. This also included some real badass clean solos ( they played a cover of metallica's one).
