Hey, I've been recently looking at the Marshall 9001 rack mount preamp filter, and a Marshall 8008 80w/80w rack mount power amp. Right now I'm running a 100w head, with a 4X12 cab. I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with either of these two models, and should I make the switch to rack mounted gear, or stick with the head?

well, a 9001 with an 8008 in rack size is pretty cool, and powerfull as fuck!

kinda pricey though, but I've seen a band play that exact setup with a Les Paul and they had a real brutal sound..

Yeah, unfortunately I've just found out about the price issue. Hopefully I can find a decent pair used for cheap.

good luck finding, they are a RARE find second hand...

as are many other high end peices of equipment, and if you do happen to find one, it might not be as cheap as you expected, alot of gear seems to retain its value, like dual recs, they go for like 1500 new and i've seen them close to that used on ebay and at stores. but good luck dude, i'm sure you'll find a way.
