OK well, i have a program thats decent, its called "Acid DJ". But what i need is a good mic that i can record with, like i bought this white one that plugs nto sound card, but thats a pos. Whats a good mic that plugs into sound card that works good with recording guitar/vocals?

you can just buy an actual mic or use the one you have, they make adaptors for mics where it turns the normal mic connection into a guitar chord connection (i don't know the science terms but either way its converted so you can plug the mic into an amp). Just get that adaptor, and get another adaptor that makes a regular cable end size fittable into the computer.

i know, its not that easy to understand but i just woke up. Eitherway it ables you to take a regular mic, and hook it into your comp if you get all that. And eitherway, max amount you'd be spending is maybe 10 bucks.

ok, first off, don't plug the mic directly into the comp....
The computer can't power the mics. Using a 40 dollar mixer is a great idea.
I bought a Behringer UB502 and I have been so crazy making alot of stuff.
It is only 50 bucks and the quality is ecellent. Fuck all those people saying
Behringer sucks, they're actually a good company. As for mics, I use a 50 dollar
Audio Technica mic and it sounds excellent. But use Cool Edit Pro 2 which is
really good.

i doubt he'll make a forum.
the only chance of that is we get overrun by threads about recording, and they're all pretty specific.
if the sticky recording thread bubbles up over 300, then i'll start a part 2 recording thread
if that fills up too, then i'll ask about a recording forum.
