" Immortalized "

A strike to tinder.
Single wisp of curling sweet smoke.
Longing and fulfillment, the bellows.
Jump to a small glowing flicker.
Arcing about ankles, continuing the climb
To flames just tall enough
To taste calves with tongues of fire--
Never in the same place
Or the same way twice.
Stance shoulder-width and frozen.
Mind incapable of coaxing movement.
Feeling hot fingers the color of the morning sun
Carrying on with their sultry caressing dance.
Touching loins and climbing fervently, steadily.
Hot teeth gnashing torso.
Swirling as a time-lapsed tornado moving skyward.
Dizzy anticipation as arms surrender overhead.
Head tossed backward as a haunting cry echos.
Burning hands forcing shoulders downward--
Kneeling against the white hot earth.
Neck and ears consumed as escaping moisture
Steams from parted lips.
Lashes panicked surounding eyes.
Body too weak to stay separated.
Succombing and unifying with the blaze.
Human flesh becomes immortal
In a final passionate scream.

Eyes straight ahead.
Breath steady.
Calmness of the mad and deranged.
Rising from bended knees
As the fire soothes itself to a purr.
Stepping from the glowing coals.
Reaching out to touch,
To scorch another's flesh.
Hissing gasp as eyes lock,
But touch goes unbroken.
Feeding flames retained in the mind.
Alizarin glow reflected from
One pair of eyes into another.
