Floyd Rose "Speedloader"

Yep this is the new trem made by Floyd Rose. Its still has its great tuning stability but without all the frustration Heres sum info taken from www.floydrose.com:

"The integrated SpeedLoader Bridge and SpeedLoader String design allows a complete set of strings to be changed in less than one minute by eliminating the need for tuning keys, wrenches, string stretching, or major re-tuning.

Once the SpeedLoader Bridge undergoes an initial set up and tuning, string changes can be performed by unlatching the old string at the bridge and snapping in a replacement. The replacement string returns to the identical pitch as the prior string with only a minor fine-tuning adjustment. Rather than stretching, strings can be ‘played in’ – traditional stretching is unnecessary and over stretching, may, in fact, damage the strings."

The initial setup looks like a bitch but after that your done! http://floydrose.com/demo.htm
and just think of the headstock possibilities. Look in those pics the headstock has a hole in it! Now a headstock can never be to big or to small. B.C. Rich already started to produce guitars with this system. Check out this NJ Warlock , At first the headstock will look naked without any tuning machines but you'll get used to it.

I don't like that system. (Of course, I have no experince of it, but from I've read, I don't like it)

Mainly because it limits your choice of strings very much. But also because it seems badly fit for non-standard tuning.

floyd rose has special strings you have to use for it, i saw this a long time ago and thought it was either outrageously stupid, or actually pretty smart, i couldn't choose. I still kinda can't, without having played one, i'd say its stupid, cause how do you change the actual tuning? Thats what i'd like to know. Lets say your sick of playing Half step down, you wanna go 1 and a half step down, i didn't see anything about how to do that. And yeah, the strings are pretty limited since the system itself is still new, but i'm guessing the ones they do have suck.

Tuning to another tuning is achieved by setting the range of the finetuners to a much lower range. However, I doubt that this system allows you to go to A.

I have no frustration changing straings with my Flyod, just take one string off at a time and replace it, strech it, tune it, then move to teh next string. This way you are not drasticly chagning the tension on the springs and the need to adjustments is no longer there.

no its 2 bullet ends.... this system will need a year or two to get full support but after that u can expect other companys improve upon the design like ibanez did with the origanal floyd.

yeah, after having my very first floyd rose guitar for a couple years now, i find no frustation in it. I'd like to try one of these though. Maybe steinberger (headless guitar makers) will come back in style and get a bigger profit with this new floyd idea.

guitars without heads just look odd........

and i don't know how good this thing is, but it does sound interesting, 'cause my main guitar will always stay in E, and i have a different non-floyd guitar designated for different tunings
still, i do like having the freedom to down-tune if i wanted to.

This system allows alternate tunings, but i dunno how low it can go.

Just so you guys know, this system isn't new at all. Many Kramer Strikers from the 80's came with this exact same bridge. It is cool, though because it makes changing strings easier. My Striker 1000 has one and it is very cool. Too bad the neck is a piece.
