Personally, I feel that some bands overdo things.
Speaking of album covers, the Dance Of Death cover art is pretty gay. Not good at all. I prefer the old maiden artwork. Really good stuff!

I don't know if it was mentiond or not but Cradle of Filth have some cool album art, now if only there music was at least half as decent as their art LOL.
Also Graveworm have some cool art Especially the album "Engraved in Black"
Suidakra's newest album "Signs for the Fallen" had some nice art as well.
And Amortis' "Gift of Tounges" was rather weird looking but cool none the less
