Best Opeth song
Well im sure this is going to be like most the other threads but here it is anyway...
I'd have to say that the best Opeth song(s) are
1.The Night and The Silent Water
2.Advent
3.Windowpane

The best song in my opinion is "The Funeral Portrait", i personally love death metal and that song embodies it. Granted i still love "Harvest" and "The Face of Melinda".

It's more or less impossible & a moot point anyway. I'm thinking they're all too fucking good to be discussing which one's better than the other.
Pick up an Opeth album, you're guaranteed to hear seriously good tunes. They're fucking insane & that's all there is too it.

well, sorry to say this and stuff, but I never heard any Opeth
except for 2 songs. Which do kinda sound like just acoustics..
But I'm not sure because I haven't their music well, probably one
of those times when music doesn't really sink in and stuff.
Anyway, which Opeth songs have that mean-ass death metal vibe?
Everywhere I go it says Death Metal Death Metal Death Metal
but the songs I heard are like classical.

these are all the Opeth songs that are "like classical", with just acoustics (mostly):
- entire Damnation album
- on Deliverance album: A Fair Judgement, For Absent Friends
- on Blackwater Park album: Harvest, Patterns in the Ivy
- on Still Life album: Benighted, Face of Melinda
- on My Arms, Your Hearse album: Prologue, Madrigal, Credence, Epilogue
- on Morningrise album: To Bid You Farewell
- on Orchid album: Silhouette, Requiem
i think that's all their "classical" acoustic stuff; any other Opeth song is a mix of full-on death metal with some acoustic breaks

The best Opeth song? Damn. That's a hard one. Hee, hee - hard one. Anyway, since it's imposible for me to come to a final desision, (hee, hee - come) I'm just going to list a few of my current favorites. Hee, hee - favorites.........Oh, wait a minute. Man I'm weird.
in order:
1. Karma (I love the extended scream at the end)
2. Funeral Portrait
3. Deliverance
4. Bleak
5. Your fat, naked mom

best album
I got an idea We should list the best albums too. That's way easier to decide than the best song. The best album is definitely My arms, Your hearse! Opeth is god!

mmm, I do kind of agree, at my school I see stupid Slipknot fans
wearing Opeth shirts and some chick who listens to fucking Pink
has 3 albums from Opeth. My Stage TEch teacher used to be a
soundman for OPeth and he said that Opeth were pretty heavy,
and he also said that the GT6's they use actually say GT666
But my teacher is stupid, he likes pop music and shit.

Ha, this is great. Tool usually gets pretty boring, but Opeth are different.
I think the word I'm looking for is "Good" but correct me if I'm wrong.
My favorites are:
Bleak
Closure
Wreath
among others.
A little off the topic, but as far as stuff that puts me to sleep....when I first started getting into noise-core and grind and stuff, that used to make me tired as hell when ever I listened to them......and I still dont know why.....
Maybe my ears are pussies.
*Thinks about what that would be like*
