Hi all!

My mate bought himself a Shure SM 58 last week.
Heard it's a pretty good mic.

Now, since he's still saving for a good installation, he now plugs it into his HiFi Stereo (a 240 watts I think).

We did the same thing with an old crappy mic for a long time, and it seemed to work fine...

But after a couple of days, the Shure didn't work on his stereo anymore... Neither did he on mine...
Even when plugged in the computer for recording, it didn't work.

So what could be wrong with one of the best mics that's only one week old?

I have no idea what might go wrong that qwuickly, but if there's any warranty on the thing, you should be able to get a new one at no cost. If not you could either have a tech look at it, or look at it youself (the latter won't be any good unless you have at least some experience of electronics)
