Right now im setting my eyes on the Kirk Hammett 202 but my first pick would be the K7 any thoughts on it? Any owners?

im pretty sure you cant get alot of tonal range with it, but i guess you wouldnt need that for playing korn's stuff...

totally not worth the price (1400$ at musicians friend)
you could buy so many guitars that are way better (look better, play better, sound better, more range 'cause they actually have tone knobs)

with that kinda money you could even make a custom guitar built to your specifications.

i've actually played the guitar. i didn't know the price at the time, but at the time i thought it would be worth at most 850, 'cause it's a 7 string and you're paying for the Korn name. i can't believe it's worth more than a grand.

Alexi Liaho could play a 7-string, autoghraph it, and sell it to me for a penny and I still wouldn't buy it. I'm just not into 7-strings, it's not about the band. If a 6-string had the same features I would definately go for it.

the specs are average, counting the dimarzio's they have in there, they suck, i wouldn't pay more than 400 for this, and i'm just saying that because a cheap ibanez 7 string (no matter what model) usually sells for around 400.

and yes, if it were a jeff hanneman or kerry king 7 string model guitar, i'd say it kicks ass, because it would kick ass, look at the kerry king V, its fucking killer (the 2000 one, not the cheap one), look at the jeff hanneman ESP, its killer, and not just because they're in slayer, because the guitars are great, thats the case most of the time though, if its a good band with a good guitar player, he'll want a good guitar, he won't use some crap guitar. The k7 is a crap guitar, i'd say this is someone in my favorite band played it. Plain and simple. K7 sucks.

Lets see.... Kerry King and Jeff Hannamen Guitars..... Kahler Locking trems.... Korn guitar.... a floyd with sum retarded ass bar that serves NO purpose. Personally, id suggest MASTERING a 6 string b4 u even touch a 7 string. Look at korn they have 7 strings, but do they need it... NO! All the greats use 6 STRINGS Dimebage, Zakk, Hammet, Slayer..... and they still have alot more to learn on a 6 string. Rememer u cna always TUNE DOWN! 7 strings r worthless.

that's your opinion, but in my opinion this is why it sucks:

no tone knobs
no inlays (i'm used to dots, there's no dot inlays on the fretboard, only an obnoxious K7 at the 12th fret)
just not worth the money! what makes this guitar 1400$? There's no doubt that you can get a guitar with 7 strings, floyd rose, mahogany body for cheaper than 1400.

only difference is the basswood body, but with the 800$ difference that you would save, you can have a mahogany body made to the same specs AND a custom graphic finish with anything you want on it.

and yes it is closeminded to say a guitar sucks just because a bad band plays it, but it's also ignorant to say a guitar rules because a good band plays it.
i have a feeling that JusticeIsRaped only likes this guitar 'cause of his favorite band, one thing that tips me off is that he's considering a KH-202 , also, and it's NOT a seven string.

DO NOT BUY THE KH2 IT FUCKIN SUCKS DICK, i played it and it sucked, even through a fuckin ENGL amp!!!!!!!!!, it sounded worse than a mini crappy squire. anyway i also suggest that u don't get that korn sig guitar because theres many other better guitars around in that price range. I aint sayin this cos i hate korn, its just that signature korn guitar has worse specs than my cheap korean kramer.

wow, its been a while Piper...And yeah, Steve actually went to one of my stage tech classes and we have to setup his guitar. It was nice, but the one we brought in have like a pearl pickgaurd that was shiny and reflected light.

The k7 is over priced, ugly(by ugly i mean plain), and quite frankly isn't a good instrument. I have a friend who bought a k7, and i played it. It sucked but thats just mine opinion.

I always prefeer a ESP Stephen Carpenter LTD....more better than the korn shitty guitar...The Carpenter´s guitar it's great....nice color, nicer hambuckers, nice sound, nice design...but...worth price if you gonna to buy the limited edicion. But if you want to buy the standard deftones style, it cost 499US and how i say....it is more better than k7 korn style

And...if you like a 7 strings guitar, why not do you buy a Guibson or another style of Ibanez????

i wouldn't buy somebodys signature guitar because your paying extra money just because its their signature guitar. if i were you i would go to the nearest guitar center or whatever guitar shop is around you and test a bunch, and pick the one that sounds the best, and plays the best for your money. $1400 is a rip for the k7, it should suck you and fuck you for that.
