Burrito Of Death, my almost complete JOKE Death Metal song.
have fun trying to tab the solo if you can actually make it out under the supposed-to-be-fucked delay i added onto it.
http://www.digitalsoundplanet.com/M...004268_proj.mp3
by the way, i spent no more than 3 minutes on recording this, all 1 take for each guitar part.

Loved the harmonics, riff was also pretty good but it sounded slightly unorganised

Is it just me, or is art's song very unclear. I can't hear shit. The intro is distinguishable, but the rest is just a big blur.

haha, that was the whole point. I wanted one huge pile of shit, 1 guitarist plays one thing, the other plays another, but somewhat in the same mind frame as the first one.

wow, that was some major shreddage there.
right now Arthur is in first place
cause he's the only one who's uploaded his stuff so far.
so let's see those mp3s and see if you can top Arthur's mega-awesomeness
and if you upload, please tell us how you recorded it, and what gear and software you used.
what'd you use Arthur?

well before you record anything, get an account on digitalplanet.com, signing up is a little looking around to do, but you should find it. It'll let you upgroad your songs that second instead of having to wait a couple weeks. but this is my whole secret for that song, considering its a joke song and i don't care if you guys know.
Guitar 1 = Rhythm coming out of right speaker
Ibanez GSA 60 tuned to B > POD 2.0 with (i think, but therefore i forget) a Dream Theater setting > Into an adaptor > Into computer > Where i then record onto my Cakewalk.
Guitar 2 = Lead coming out of left speaker
Ibanez GSA 60 tuned to B > POD 2.0 with Pantera setting > Into an adaptor > Into computer > Where i then record onto my Cakewalk.
Guitar 2 is lead so the leveling on the Lead is turned up more, therefore you hear the Pinch harmonic Guitar 2 is playing on the 4th fret of the A string more than Guitar 1 which is playing the 2nd fret on the B string.
the solo is
Guitar 3 = Solo coming out of both left and right speaker
Ibanez GSA 60 tuned to B > POD 2.0 with (i think) Death setting with a crazy delay added > Into an adaptor > Into computer > Where i then record onto my Cakewalk
After it was all recorded and leveled, i then exported the song into an MP3, uploaded it onto my DigitalPlanet.com studio, and then put the link here.
Genuisness, i know, i will be signing autographs at the door.

DOES IT HAVE TO BE SOMETHING I WROTE OR I CAN BE ANYTHING?
I'LL TRY TO POST SOMETHING NEXT WEEK. THE ONLY THING IS IT'S GOING TO BE SHORT OR BAD QUALITY BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE INTERNET AT HOME NEITHER A CD BURNER SO I'LL HAVE TO RECORD HOME AND BRING IT AT WORK ON A FLOPPY DISK.

Well, I can't necessarily post an mp3, cause the only file extensions are....
If you want to hear my song called "intro." I'll email it to ya.
me - lead guitar(melody), bass
josh - lead guitar(ah.'s, tremolos)
no drums...
(on ftp)

Well finally, I got some shit up. It has drums, 2 guitars (Both me), and no bass. After numerous attempts to upload better shit this is the only file small enough to upload. The link should work, though it was a bitch to get it to work. You might need Real Player to play the song, I'm not sure if it'll play on anything else but you can always try.
http://hometown.aol.com/dmetaler/track01.mp3
Enjoy

tuning your guitar before recording the rhythm would've been nice...
and having a solo too, considering that the thread title is "best forum SOLO guy"

The guitar is tuned to C# and............no solo? When you downloaded it how long is the song? If you didn't hear a solo either you didn't listen to the whole song or it din't download the whole way. It's suppose to be 2:28 minutes. The solo is a 1:26.

My song, and average solo
Hails all, I'm new here, but I've been visiting the site for tabs for a long time.
check out a demo song of mine, recorded like this...
Jackson KX10D > Zoom GFX-707 > PC soundcard > Recorded each guitar with a small prog called Sound O'le as seperate Wave files.
Imported each file into Pro Tools Free, and 'mixed' it.
The Zoom drum machine is programmed by me, which is why it's quite boring. I'm no drummer!
This was then burnt and distributed to my band to learn, where we adapted bits slightly, and made up the lyrics. We then had to audition for soem new members, and this shitty demo was all we really had in the way of stuff for new guys to listen to, so my vocalist recorded the vox in his bedroom, and dubbed them over the original music... which is why the quality is less than great.
So now you know how, here it is.
http://www.davemaclean.net/temp/Psychopathology.mp3
P.S. The true harmonics at the beginning are due to a rough hand position change, due to me having to hit record and then start playing...sounds like Machine Head, but they aren't intentional! The solo goes out of key (I think) cos I suck..and it's an early solo. The rhythm guitar goes out of time near the end, also, cos I suck.
Lemme know what you think.

really nicely done....for a home job its very pleasing to the ear....vocals and all..
the drums werent too bad...you kept it simple but u should have done a few more fills and shit..actually on 2nd listen the fills arent too bad..
Russian guy posted his bad song...but still had the guts to do it...now lets see some of you guys post some traxx....its not hard...if u have a pc and a guitar you can do it just like deathmaster...

haha cheers guys
It isn't a pinch at the start, they are natural harmonics...although there are intentional pinches in the middle part, before the solo.
I don't like the ones at the start cos it makes it sound instantly nu metal

I like it a lot but the solo is awkward sounding. OVerall, it's pretty good though. The riffs remind me of Vehemence.

some dude posted this cheesy midi backing track on a diff forum, and i soloed over it. It doesn't really show my true compositional and technical capabilities, 'cause this solo was mostly improvised.
there's a few wrong notes in the beginning, maybe even a few out of tune bends, and it's definitely nothing close to metal. but oh well.

thanks, you're the first person to give their opinion that wasn't explicitly asked to.
Ibanez Rg570(stock pickups) into Crate GX60c (solidstate) -> mic in of computer
that was all on the neck pickup too
I used Cool Edit Pro to play the backing track at the same time as i recorded
