I did, you goon. But then again, it probably got lost in an enormous list of bands in that way. So, it's kinda my fault too.
Let's blame weijia.

No idea who that is, but it saves me from having to go through horrible self-immolation all day, standing in front of the mirror crying & bleeding with awesome, soul-searing Carcass goodness in the background.
Weijia, consider yourself blamed.

heh heh...I WORSHIP this fucking band.
Heartwork is one of my all-time favorite CD's from any band.
That was actually the very first metal CD that I bought, and I've loved melodic death ever since.

I've been listening to Carcass for over ten years!
I first heard them when I was in highschool. I was watching Power Hour
on Muchmusic (like MTV) and I taped "Corporeal Jigsore Quandary" video.
I jizzed.
Everytime my buddies came over, I forced them to watch it. After
awhile, they were forcing me to play it for them. I went out with a buddy
and bought the "Symphonies of Sickness" cassette. It was nuts! I love
the names they give to the leads. They're hilarious. "Choicest Prime Cuts"
(refering to animal body parts).
Great grindcore and super aggressive stuff. We then bought the other
releases and it was super good times.
If you like Carcass (you can't help but liking them, IMO) then check out
the band "Arch Enemy". The former guitarist from Carcass (Heartwork) is
in that band aka -Mike Amott (and his brother).

I don't think you'll like Reek.. and Symphonies...
these albums are very different from Heartwork.

I tend to like everything from Carcass.
From Reek and Symphonies to Swansong, depending on what mood I'm in.

Nihlist: just FYI, it's choad, not chode.
Fabulous word, use it often. Good for making people wake up in their mid-30s crying & finally realising what you were saying all those years back......& realising you were right.

Quoted from 'The Urban Dictionary':
Quote:
The area between the scrotum and butthole. Also know as the gooch
|
Show me a person that says 'butthole', then show me a person that says 'gooch', then I'll show all three of you my middle finger, then I'll take you away & educate you as to why EVERYTHING that contains the word 'urban' is enormously gay, reeks of bad marketing, & just generally sucks.
Sorry to rag you like that, but don't visit that site again. Visit a real dictionary with real words & you may refer to yourself once more as human.

Stuff: I didn't read it too carefully, haha. Just searched for both, then posted. And also - I didn't think a REAL dictionary would have it, being a slang term. So I never tried!
Now, back on topic!
Does anyone actually like earlier Carcass? "Earlier", being Reek of Putrefaction. Really really bad production.

Yes old Carcass rules too.
I can't understand how someone with the name Nihilist uses smilies in posts. Makes me wonder if he even knows what the word means.

If you don't care, then why respond? I was merly thinking outloud, and I was refering to the idea that he got the definition for the word nihilist from urbandictionary.

Got the word 'Nihilist' from Urban Dictionary? Right.
And it so happens that I do know the definition of the word. Flame me for using smilies, great. I will try to refrain from using smilies if it pleases you. Back on topic:
Has anyone seen the Carcass DVD?

Me too
Just thought id say that I think Carcass are great too. Shame Jeff Walker doesnt think so though. My friend was speaking to him the other day and he said "Carcass..yeah ive heard 'em. Their shit!" I think its a big shame that one day he's got a great band, the next he's workin for the inland revenue

What kind of galloping retardation is this? He was IN Carcass. Why would he be bashing them?

He was joking. Just read the interview he did with Earache a few months ago. Bill Steer on the other hand hate everything he did with Carcass and Napalm Death and regrets ever doing either of the bands.

These people whoever they are obviously have no goddamned appreciation of powerful fucking music. Think about it: You spend a good portion of your life practicing in your bedroom, you finally join a band, you then join an awesome band who make good music (in the case of Napalm Death, there's a few exceptions, but the 'World Keeps Turning' type of stuff is awesome), then you quit & cry like a fucking bitch because you're unhappy with the music?!?!?!
What shit is this? These people are not Beethoven. They can't carry on about the music they created in certain parts of their life being not up to the standard that they set for themselves! Goits! Goits I say!
Anyone unhappy with being a part of Carcass, who I'm finding to be ever more insane day by day (they've changed a lot over the years haven't they?), is a flaming homosexual & needs to be shot in the neck....or at least made to listen again to the good shit they did as part of the band.

In a sense its EXACLY like Beethoven. Bill Steer wishes that his new 70s Rock band would be apriciated and his childish past forgoten about. I know its not the best comparison but but Bill Steer wrote some amazing stuff.

Correct: It's not the best comparison.
Beethoven is Beethoven for a reason. Just because you're into this guy does not make him a genre-shattering, musically ground-breaking genius of utterly epic proportions, which incidentally, Beethoven was. I don't even like the guy's music that much, too many horns, etc. but it's a little weird likening some dude (apparently) from 'firebird' to him.
Anyway, I think we've digressed horribly enough from the topic for the mods to get really pissed off with this thread.....

Beethoven is ok, but he borrowed too much from early Metallica.
Carcass is good at what they do, but I'd put a Napalm Death record over any of Carcass's early grind stuff any day.

yeah right.. just like Malmsteen borrowed too much from Cobain's guitar playing style
the first time i heard Carcass it was Heartwork then Swansong. I didn't know at the time about their early grind stuff but i really liked them. I started downloading
some early carcass and thought "damn that's not them peoples are fucked".
Personnaly i prefer the late Carcass probably because it's the way i was introduce to them. They have some fuckin sweet melodic solo.

Agreed, but Carcass are a very close second for me. Their first four albums are all essential purchases for anyone into death/black/thrash/grind/whatever metal. Is this the first Carcass thread? Shame on us if it is.
