i have been so fucking bored lately...
i'm always listening to kalmah, oldmanschild, childrenofbodom,
and the death cd sound of...and so on like that.
and i'm starting to get really bored with it. is there any worthiness
that i havn't heard of yet...a band of a badass musically quality?
i'm sorta asking for "tough to play", something to try and mess with
with i'm taking a break from kalmah and oldmanschild. i listen to
them too much. i want kalmah tough, not OMC tough, because OMC
is easy..........catchy tunes, no gayness.....somewhat maybe
like what an overture would sound like....catchy with a TON of melodies...
eh, maybe i'm asking for too much...i just want something new.
also, tell me if this is a dumb thread and this has been asked already
to this extent?

go buy Warp Zone by martyr (tabbook available, theres samples up on their website also, including a scanned tab of prototype and warp zone) (the tabbooks are made by Dan, the lead guitarist, so theres no mistakes obviously)
Colonizing the Sun by Theory in practice (check out the songs Shapeshifter and Colonizing the Sun)
oh and st anger cause it has fast parts so it automatically means that theyre good, and its complex just like justice

other than that, well, it's not really metal but...check out anything that michael angelo plays in....have fun trying to play that *cackle*

oh and uhm kalmah are fucking wussies compared to what i just listed in case you're wondering what the level of technicality is

If you want hard to play get some Dream Theater or any Jason Becker. Or Symphony X or Micheal Romeo.

If you want something hard to play, look no further than Necrophagist.

Getting into Nile recently. They're pretty crazy. Not exactly the most complex stuff you'll ever hear, but chops & changes all over the place, maybe not quite as bad as Napalm Death or Iniquity (you MUST play Iniquity!), but still pretty nutty stuff.<p>However, if you're actually jamming for real (ie. with other people) as opposed to blasting stuff in your room, try on Satyricon's album 'Rebel Extravaganza' for size, especially the track 'The Scorn Torrent'. Although the riffage is pretty damned simple, trying to get the group sounding like they're not purposely attempting to hit the brown note is really, really fucking hard. BTW, it's amusing watching people trying to drum it out....heh heh heh.<p>Also, at the risk of sounding like a complete prick, why don't you try to get into some old Megadeth? Super-fast thrash with 94billion bar riffs Good stuff.
