The new Dimmu Borgir album
Dudes, I downloaded the new Dimmu Borgir album! Death Cult armageddon is its name... It was a promo cd wich I downloaded, it will be released in the late summer.
It very hard... a lot of Old Mans Child influenses, and a lot of orchestra. It´s like a mix between puritanical euphoric misathropia and in defiance of existence and a complete orchestra behind it... I like it! At times it reminded me of old Cradle of Filth, with all the extreme keyboards, its awesome...

its great! i got a few tracks aswell. i found that they're kinda going back in time, this album is a bit more BMish than PME, yet more chunkier than the earlier ones.

I got the album the other day and I must say it is awesome. I think my favorites so far are Unorthodox Manifesto (awesome intro) and Blood Hunger Doctrine. If you listen close on heavenly perverse you hear a kid say "First he kidnapped us. Then he raped us with an axe". Crazy shit.

You got to not see it as Dimmu Borgir... the real Dimmu (stormblast, enthrone) is dead, and this I like as well... but not as much as.
Like I said, at first I wasn´t very enthousiastic, then totally not, and now I´m starting to enjoy it...
Anyway, can´t wait to see ´em Friday!

A friend of mine saw them 2 weeks ago,he said they played good but
Shagrath wore something like a skirt(!!!).I also saw a video of this
album it was not good at all

The skirts and dresses I dissagree with as well... be a gothic fag boy if you like but do it at home....
Allthough Shagrath explained the dress on the last tour (as seen on the dvd) as a tribute to Hellraiser...

DCA was the first Dimmu Borgir album i have ever bought, and it will also be my last.
On the hunt for heavily orchestrated BM, i got a tip-off that DCA (whats with all their fucking stupidly worded album names?) was my ticket.
Some of the tracks are absolutely brilliant. But unfortuantly the majority of the album sounds the same. Hence, boring.
When it comes to symphonic metal, Arcturus' - Aspera Hiems Symphonia shits all over the new Dimmu album. But it still isn't enough of a symphonic fix for me.
Any reccomendations for heavily influenced symphonic BM?

dimmu borgir is changing a little in each album, death cult armaggedon is hell good, but i think puritanical euphoric misanthropia is a little better...

You gotta be shittin me. PEM sucked nuts. There were only three good songs. I agree there may have been a couple good riffs here and there but the rest of the riffs just made my ears bleed. And the music video for the new song, hilarious, i could not help but laugh at the sheer stupidity it would take to create a Dimmu video alone, but one that dumb.

I heard it for the first time last night. Too symphonic for my liking. It's a shitload better than any other black metal I've heard, although.. I've heard maybe 2 black metal songs beforehand.

nah, that's not necessary, there are hubs with 1 GB or less also. Some people don't care...with nothing you can also have access some hubs.
