Will I have to change my Esp Viper?

Will I have to change my Esp. Viper to put EMG 81s in it? It has HZ-H's in it now.

I just want to put an 81 in the bridge

you'll just have to change the wiring. And you wouldn't be able to add just 1 emg 81. unless you don't want any pickup in the neck, but you could change it easily.

Answer is: maybe.

You will need to put a battery compartment into your guitar. You might be able to fit this into the existing electronics cavity, or you may have to route out some extra wood. I don't know off the top of my head how much room you have in that cavity, so I really can't answer the question...

Take it to the nearest shop and ask a tech.

Answer is: Yes

different wiring, different pots, 9v holder (if yours hasn't got an EMG afterburner on the HZ's.)

Yeah it does have an afterburner.

I'll keep saving so and put an EMG 85 in the neck so. Thanks for the help.

you can keep the HZ.

in one of my ESP Vs i have an EMG 89 in the bridge and the standard passive EMG in the neck and its working fine. im not sure if its hooked up to the battery or bypassed and still working passively, coz i had a tech do it.

its as though it is hooked up coz its not too far behind an 81 or 85 in terms of output.
i though it wouldnt work but it does.
