what the hell do they sound like, i looked at some
tabs of them, and they seem pretty straight forward,
meaning just a bunch of riffs, no fancy shit...
are they worth the curiosity, or will this turn into another one
of my [find out yourself you dickless chump] threads
i always start here.

Yeah, cause I headbang while I do, and I can't really "Jump" (haha ) like VanHalen in a dorm room, so I just walk back and forth....haha a couple days ago I was jumping up and down on my bed, with my pants down and my roommate came in when I wasn't looking, hahaha.

It is BM (obviously), but it's pretty different from most BM. There song are allot more riff based, and do not rely as much on atmosphere, as most black metal is. They're also catchy as hell. I recommend the albums Pure Holocaust or At The Heart Of Winter.

They are one of my favorite black metal bands. they haave 2 pahses. Their riff style pretty much remains the same throughout but the first 3 albums "Pure Holocaust" "Battles In the North" and "Blizzard Beasts" don't have as pretty production as the newer stuff.
"Pure Holocause" is the best of the old and "At The Heart of Winter" is the best of the new.

I know but I didnt feel the need to mention an album taht is kid of hard to get to someone who is new to the band. And its not their best material. |

At first they called it Holocaust Metal (Immortal itself) but it´s great Black Metal... With at the heart of winter as the masterpiece, although I love all the albums... It sucks big time that they split up...

I love all the albums, but I haven't got Pure Holocaust yet. I'm not sure if they could make another great kickass album. So maybe it's good they split up, because otherwise they would go from nr 1 black metal to nr 100

Stuff like Battles and Holocaust are fantastic, At the heart is also, but in a different way... I like the new ones more, but it's both brilliant
