pick slide

in alot of songs the guitar starts with a slide with the pick after the intro.
but it cuts my pick in half, what pick's the best for sliding?

Probably the thicker, the better.

those 2-3mm from dunlop(purple transparant) ones arent too bad for slides, they dont wear down...only problem is they dont have "attack" (ie: the sound isnt sharp..and for pick slides it sounds a bit blurry)

Then why would you use it. I perfer the light blue tortex picks (ones with the turtle). Can't remeber what mm they are because it always rubs off.

As someone said in the "sweep pick thickness" thread, wouldn't it be smarter to find a way to do 'em nicely with your normal pick?

Me. Theres already a thread about pick slides. Also the fact that they normaly over lap the slide serveral times to give it a better and sharper sound. Also the same with pinch harmonics. Closed.
