What the hell? Isn't goth like anti-social and shit? Parties are kind of social in my opinion...
The Sins of thy Beloved is the only goth band I like...
Evoken and My Dying Bride are good Doom...and Cathedral.

I dunno man, a goth party may just have fat chicks and acne scarred skinny guys. If there is gonna be some hot goth chicks then I wanna go.

... Nightwish? Can't think of any band that fit in that genre. Nightwish is very close to party music, I think..
But then again, maybe not...

They arent too many true "gothic" bands that are good but type o negative, and sisters of mercy, gothic sex, and howling syn are pretty good. Then u got some of the doom bands like old theatre of tragedy, novembers doom, macbeth, my dying bride, paradise lost, sins of thy beloved. And although not true gothic music, CoF got a few songs that have more of a gothic atmosphere than most gothic bands.
