I'm not a master of sweeping or anything but I can do some pretty cool ones...
Everyone has their own style of sweeping. You can hit those notes on the same string by alternating or hammer ons/pull offs. Depends what feels better. I personally would hammer on/pull off because thats the only way I know how. A sweep is basically chords played with all the notes being hit without a split second in between them. Or a split second being blended together. So obviously its going to take practice. The advantage to using that hammer on/pull off method is that you can't possibly overlap notes or cut them off too soon. But the disadvantage is that you have to practice stopping your picking hand and then starting it back up again in the right time or the sweep will sound like shit.
Sorry if this doesn't make too much sense, can't think straight. Being arrested while for minor in possesion while being drunk really sucks...
