Truss rod adjustments

I just put 56-11s on my floyd and everything sounds good except now my strings are , to get them back do I tighten or loosen the the truss rod? I would think loosen it but just checking...

eh, your strings are what?

more away from the fretboard?

thicker strings as before?

turning the truss rod thing clockwise gives the neck more tension, it should solve your problem.

Its not your strings that are
its your bridge that is

In saying that your strings are gives away the fact that you must be a beginner player, thus not knowing that a floyd rose is designed to be parallel with the body of your guitar. See, I'm a psychic that knows everything about your life. Your family, your friends, your secret homo-sex life with Elton Georgio...lets not get into this now though. What I will tell you is that your bridge on your cheap ass guitar is slanting upward, thus throwing the tune out very fast. Infact, so fast that when you're done tuning the strings, the string you tuned first is already . See, with your thick ass strings you can't tune in standard E silly boy. You must first, ask your parents if its ok to use the screwdriver. After doing so, carefully take apart the back of your guitar revealing 3 large springs. You must then hope and pray that you have an extra spring of that same size somewhere under your bed or in your closet. I can't picture the location in my head but it is in a pouch of some sort...Take that spring and add it to the back of your guitar where the other fellow springs are. Now, for the hard part. Tune your guitar up until its in tune. Now, you might think that is not hard, but trust me......it is. And don't ever question my intelligence again boy. Back to the subject. After you tuned your guitar up, the bridge will still be ing up. Notice how theres a phillip head screw holding those springs? (two to be precise). If the bridge is still slanting down, rotate the screws EVENLY until the bridge is a little bit closer to being parallel with the body but not quite. Because if you do it too much at one time, your strings will snap, and thats not fun. Then, after the screws are tightened a little, tune the guitar to E again. The bridge might still be slanted up, or "" if you will, but thats ok. You can repeat that process again til the bridge is perfectly parallel but be careful!!! If you make the bridge start to slant the opposite way (that would be slanting down....because opposite of up is???? you guessed it....down), you will have to rotate those screws we met earlier the opposite as before. And thats no fun...so lets get it right the first time and not be a silly willy ok? ok. I hope you find your way and may peace be with you

whilst your all talking about springs in the back of the axe and what not .

id like to ask what is the wire for that goes through the body into the back, and is solderd on to the plate which the strings are attached to?

Actually metal=life I know what I'm doing in the way of guitar strings, floyds, springs in the back and such. My guitar is at C so and I just lowered my action which is when I noticed the neck bending. I just was wondering which way to turn the truss rod so as not to snap my strings; at that point I would be back to where I started...

So your positive that its your neck??? Cause floyds can be tricky EXSPECIALLY if u tune down. If you have thicker gauge of strings then that causes more tension, pulling the bridge forward, so add a spring to help pull the bridge back to level. I use gauge 10 strings and 5 springs.... but thats just cause i like to play rough and if i dont have enough springs then when i acually hit the bridge the not will go wack

Your neck is bending?? At C? Thats really weird. And not good...I hope you took the strings off. If not your intonation will be FUCKED. In which case, a guitar shop will only help you now. Messing with the truss rod is far to difficult to do yourself...trust me. Don't fuck with it.

What model of a guitar is it? Keep your action set properly...Too low and the strings will buzz and too high the harder to play. No matter what, I don't see why your neck is bending. Are the screws in the back equally tight? Thats important.

Now, I'm talking out of my ass when I say this, but if you have a wizard neck (really thin) heavy strings and low tunings might not be a good combo...but I don't know. Thats why they have baritone guitars though, which is a thick ass neck to hold low tunings and heavy gauges.

I bet your intonation is fucked. Get a tuner and see if the 5th fret of the low E is exactly a A...

"Ah, its what I get for tryin to help a preteen." Well, you didn't exactly appear to try to help him in a friendly way. You were more like "come here little baby, and let Daddy do all the work for you, fuckhead!" if you get my point. Very patronizing. So people get angry at you. Surprised?
