if ya want to nail the slayer sound, youll need a jcm800, period.

for the others, you could get away with an EQd jcm900.

all this is second hand btw..

im not going with ANY band sound. im going for my own sound, i just listed those bands because of the type of distoration they use is heavy and u can tell its there band by there sound. IM looking for something with good distoration, good warm clean sound, yet with so bite to it, and prolly some good effects for certain stuff but tahts jut extra . I have never played those amps and dont know how there distoration sounds or anything posted them to see if yoll have and which one is better in your on thoughts.

the MG's sounded like dogshit to me. I only heard an AVT100 which was ok... no match to DSL/TSL's and JCM's though.

I wouldn't the AVT50H too much. I have one of them and it has really lousy distortion, unless you like it bassy and sloppy, although with a Boss MT-2 pedal on the clean channel it sounds great. As for the MG100HDFX, I don't know what to say. I haven't played around with the distortion too much, but the effects are pretty pointless. I think you should get a used head, personally. The AVT cab is really bassy too by the way, but it sounds cool with the pedal.

It has a nice clean too, but it isn't too loud if you play with another guitarist who has a large amp.

Between the two, definately go with the AVT. One of my friends has one. It's not a JCM, but it's far from a bad amp.

good choice on the head man but if you decided on the jcm 200 tsl 100 why do you still want or opinion on a good head?
