I take it you're talking about the 3-2-3 thing on the A-string... you need to hit the string right on top of the neck pickup, or between the pickup and then end of the fretboard (I haven't played this in a while). You also need to crank the gain for this one... that may be the problem. Part of the sound is the vibrato thrown on the first C (3)...
