it sounds like youve never changed strings on a floyd. you should proabably have someone else do it for you the first time, and watch how to do it. you need to cut the ball ends off with wire cutters. im not going to say how to string the guitar and tune it, theres plenty of sites for that already and its too much hassle writing it here. but i really recommend taking it to a shop if you dont feel confident first time (i didnt).

yep you have to cut the balls off the strings...and as micko said it'd be advisable to get it done from someone & watch closely how its done

dont take it to a shop, to much of a waste of money, just look for some sites, i know theres some links to them somewhere on here, you'll do fine yourself if you just follow the instructions of sites.

i remember when i got my first jackson with a floyd rose, i came back a couple days later to get some strings for it, and thats when i asked the guy how to string it, he demonstrated on a jackson there. That and using a site are probably the best ways.

figure out the bridge, then leave the ball end at the head and twist the access string around the peg, therefor when your you break a string (it usually breaks at the bribge), all you got to do is twist the tuning key for eccess string and put the tip in the bridge.. saves ya money!

well i did it decently the first time but accidentally popped em all outta the trem so i added another spring and some kept poppin out. so i had bought 2 sets since i knew i was gonna fuck this up and they were the ernie balls with copper wrapped around the end with the ball. i cut the ball off and put the copper end in the trem, better grip on string so they didnt slip out.
