It's a great album. They are about one of the only 90's power/true/trad metal bands I like. The other two being Iced Earth and Blind Guardian, go figure. I totally recommend it to fans of all styles of metal. Even some of my too true and kvlt friends like it.

I haven't heard any D&W songs, however, I think it may have Schaffer's stagnent songwriting style on it. Schaffer has written a lot of songs (particularly the ones he tries to promote to lead an album) that are exactly the same. Melencholy, Watching Over Me, I Died For You, and I think there is another one.
Just by looking at tabs and Guitar Pro files, It seems that Schaffer has put another version of Melencholoy/Watching etc. on that album.
Schaffer's stagnent single structure (Whoa, it all begins with S)
Slow Acoustic Verse 1 - Catchy Chorus with Distorted Guitar - Slow Acoustic Verse 2 -Catchy Chorus with Distorted Guitar - Quick Solo - Catchy Chorus with Distorted Guitar x2 (second solo hits on the 4th chorus)
Those songs, while they have great choruses and solos, get boring really fast. When I listen to them, I usually just fast forward to the 2nd chrorus cuz the verse lines are so damn repetitive and boring.......

I really like Iced Earth and all, but they have know songs that just plain out rock. Most power metal bands should have good rocking songs. Sure, they have some great heavy mosh songs, but their songs either have a lot of filler bullshit or nothing but fast palm muting.
Stratovarius has so many all out metal rockers like Learning to Fly, Eagleheart or Hunting High and Low. The closest thing that I can think that IE has is Burning Times, which is more mosh heavy than it is catchy.
Hell, even Nightwish has the song Nightquest, which rocks more than anything that IE has ever written.
